Educate and Inspire
As part of my Girl Scouts Gold Award I work to educate and inspire other Girl Scouts. I share my project with other troupes to raise awareness about homeless animals in Kansas City that are available for adoption.
By working together we are able to take action and help our community.
During our meetings we also created dog toys to donate to the shelters.
If you are interested in creating dog toys to donate I have included the directions below!
Directions:
1. You will need multiple t-shirts (we used gently used t-shirts). The more vibrant the colors the better
2. Start by cutting slits at the base of the shirts about 2 or 3 inches wide and once you have cut the slits you can rig along the slit to create long strips
3. Gather the strips together and tie one end. Divide the strips into thirds and braid them together
4. Continue to braid until all of the strips create one unit. Tie at the bottom and stretch the t-shirt braid to finish the dog toy!
